The following are minimum necessary requirements for applying to Curriculum and Instruction graduate programs.
cGPA:
MA in CI / MA in CI with IB: 2.50 / 4.00
Ph.D: 3.00 / 4.00 (graduate cGPA)
ALES:
MA / MA with IB: 60 (verbal)
Ph.D.: 60 (equally-weighted)
ALES is required for resident Turkish citizens who are applying for the MA and PhD programs. Those applicants who are not Turkish citizens are required to submit a valid GRE score instead.
GRE:
MA in CI / MA in CI with IB: 295 (950) (Verbal and quantitative total) 295 and 3.5 in analytical writing.
Ph.D.: 305 (1100) (Verbal and quantitative total) and 4.0 in analytical writing.
GRE/ALES scores are valid for 5 years. GRE/ALES scores must be valid at the time of registration. Home edition is not accepted.
English Proficiency:
MA in CI / MA in CI with IB, and Ph.D.: TOEFL IBT (at least 87) or IELTS Academic (6.5 with a minimum score of 5.5 in each section), or Bilkent PAE (C)
For PhD, if you submit IELTS or Bilkent PAE scores only, you also need to satisfy the foreign language requirement as imposed by the Inter-Universities Board (ÜAK) of Turkey: at least 55 from YDS or its equivalent as listed by the Board, in a language other than the mother tongue must be submitted. If you plan to submit an equivalent score of TOEFL IBT to YDS, the test must be taken at one of the test centers in state universities (YÖK requirement).

All exam scores are considered valid for only two years, and they must be valid at the time of registration.
TOEFL IBT “Special Home Edition” test results will not be accepted.

Yes (Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree) (if already obtained)
Transcripts:
Yes (For PhD, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, for MA, undergraduate transcripts)
Most recent one available at the time of application
Statement of Purpose:
A letter written in English describing past research and/or teaching experience or any other relevant experience, research interests, faculty members you are interested in working with, and motivations for applying for the program.
Letter of Recommendation:
2 (Completed online by referees)
