Mission: Bilkent-UNAMBG

Welcome! We are the Bilkent-UNAMBG team consisting of Bilkent University Molecular Biology and Genetics undergraduates. The purpose of our group is to develop projects utilizing Synthetic Biology to solve some of the problems that we encounter in our daily lives. We try to structure these projects to attend iGEM, the International Genetically Engineered Machines competition, and to represent both our school and country.

To increase our interaction with people, we wanted to launch this website. In the times of this pandemic, it is essential to develop new ways of interacting with and motivating each other, most importantly by sharing knowledge. Our initial aim is to provide steady, honest, and reliable content to our community. Misinformation and myths about science and technology are widespread. In the case of COVID-19, for example, we have to correct the misinformation and myths because the health of the general public is at stake. Also, we noticed, there a shortness of scientific platforms. We aim to encourage others to join and work with us; furthermore, we welcome everybody’s feedback. We initially intend to write about the current pandemic. We also want to share our experience with the iGEM competition. Our general purpose is to share what’s new and what’s inspiring in the Life Sciences, especially in Synthetic Biology. We will make science fun by sharing content for all ages, including for children.
