Graduate Students

Mehmet Atıf Durmuş

Mehmet received his bachelor’s degree from the Material Science and Nanotechnology Engineering Department of TOBB University of Economics and Technology. His current research in Quantum Photonics Lab focuses on the fabrication of TMD based Van der Waals heterostructures and optical characterization of interlayer excitons in those structures.

Şeyma Esra Atalay

Esra received his bachelor’s degree from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department of Dokuz Eylül University, İzmir. Her current research in Quantum Photonics Lab focuses on the fabrication of TMD-based heterostructures in a dielectric microcavity for the study of exciton-polaritons.

Hilal Korkut

Hilal received her bachelor’s degree from the Physics Department of Balıkesir University. Her current research in Quantum Photonics Lab focuses on the photophysical studies of single-photon emitters in hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN).

Nihal Ahmed

Nihal received his bachelor’s degree from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh. His current research in Quantum Photonics Lab focuses on the microcavity integration of light emitters in two-dimensional materials.

Undergraduate Students

Salih Işıksaçan

Salih Işıksaçan is an undergraduate student at Bilkent University, studying in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He served as a social media manager in Bilkent Classical Turkish Music Society (KTMT) and is currently vice president of this student club. He is completing his internship program in the Quantum Photonics Lab at UNAM. He is currently working on the fabrication of heterostructures of 2D materials.

Kaan Demiralay

Kaan is an undergraduate student at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, studying in the Department of Material Science and Nanotechnology Engineering. He is working as an undergraduate researcher in the Quantum Photonics Lab at UNAM. His research focuses on the fabrication and optical characterization of 2D materials. He is also taking an active role in the Labview programming of various experimental setups.

Ali Hakim Taşkıran

Ali is an undergraduate student at Bilkent University, studying in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He is working as an undergraduate researcher in the Quantum Photonics Lab and taking an active role in the construction of a Michelson Interferometer.
